Healthy Granola Recipe

No direct recipe, but I’ll share approximately what I put in mine!

▪️2 cups old fashioned oats
▪️1.5 cups UNSWEETENED coconut flakes
▪️1 cup almonds
▪️1 cup walnut pieces
▪️3/4-ish pepitas
▪️Chia seeds
▪️Ground flax seed
▪️1 cup raisins (no sugar added) 
▪️Approx. 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
▪️Approx. 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
▪️cinnamon
▪️nutmeg

The more syrup you put in, the higher the sugar content, so don’t go crazy. I’ve also used organic honey, which tastes about the same.

If you add in any dried fruit, make sure you check the ingredient list. Most dried fruit on grocery shelves has added sugar in it so you’ll have to search for the plain stuff. Raisins are usually a good bet!

Also, look for unsalted nuts and those without any added oil. For example, I often shop at Aldi and it’s nearly impossible to find nuts there that don’t have some sort of oil added (minus the raw almonds). The more “naked,” the better! 😏
